New Underwriting Manager for Conventus
(Woodbridge, NJ) May 2, 2007 — NIP Management Co., LLC, the Attorney-in-Fact for Conventus Inter-Insurance Exchange, is pleased to announce that Eileen Thornton has joined the Conventus management team as Underwriting Manager. Conventus is the only 100% physician owned and 100% physician governed company offering medical professional liability insurance coverage for New Jersey physicians. “We are excited to strengthen our already excellent Underwriting department with someone as talented and experienced as Eileen,” said Conventus President John Karlen. “She comes to us with many years of NJ medical professional liability underwriting experience and a great reputation in the agent and broker community. I’m confident that Eileen will make a material contribution to our continued growth, and our ability to provide Conventus member-owners with the best coverage and service possible.” Thornton brings more than 10 years of New Jersey underwriting experience to NIP and Conventus, most of it in medical professional liability insurance. She has extensive experience managing and training underwriting and client services staff. Thornton comes to Conventus from NJ Pure, where she served as Underwriting Manager. Previously, she had spent 10 years in Underwriting with the MIIX Group of Companies, rising to Manager of Underwriting. Thornton has a degree from College of New Jersey (formerly Trenton State College). She is a licensed Insurance Producer in New Jersey, a member of PLUS (Professional Liability Underwriting Society), and is currently working towards her CPCU designation.
