Policy Definition of a Claim

A specific written or oral demand made and reported.

Consent To Settle

• All standard policies contain a consent to settle clause.

• Claims are not settled without the written consent of the physician unless a judgment has been entered or other situations arise as specified in the policy.

Extended Reporting Period Endorsement (Tail Coverage)

An Extended Reporting Period Endorsement (Tail Coverage) is offered to any physician terminating their policy. Free tail coverage is available to qualifying physicians in the event of:

• Retirement (Minimum Age of 55 with 60 or more months of consecutive membership in the Exchange)

• Disability

• Death

Licensing Board Coverage

Licensing Board Coverage is free of charge with all policies. This coverage has a $25,000 limit per insured event and a $2,000 deductible. It provides legal defense coverage in the event of a disciplinary or enforcement proceeding by an agency with legal authority to grant, revoke or restrict the Insured's license or privileges.

Locum Tenens Coverage

Offers coverage for a substitute physician for up to sixty days per year at no additional cost, with the advance approval of Conventus.

Maternity, Disability or Sabbatical Suspension

Coverage will be suspended and premiums waived for up to a maximum of 24 months after 90 consecutive days of:

• Maternity Leave

• Disability Leave

• Sabbatical Leave

• Military Leave

Corporate Entity Coverage

Corporate Entity Coverage is available for groups and professional corporations that employ multiple physicians and provides coverage to the corporate entity and it's employed ancillary personnel.
