Read the full story of the creation and growth of this unique physician owned and governed insurer here.

Conventus Inter-Insurance Exchange is the only medical professional liability insurance company in New Jersey that is both 100% owned and 100% governed by its physician members, and managed by insurance experts.  Now more than 1,000 members strong, Conventus’ conservative, fiscally responsible approach to pricing and admissions has helped it build a company that is financially strong and very well-positioned for continued growth and long-term success.  Conventus members enjoy the benefits of a company governed by, and dedicated to, New Jersey physicians: a risk management program geared towards helping members achieve efficiency and reliability in their practice; fair and individual underwriting with no profit motive; and claims handling that is focused on protecting their practice and their professional reputation.

Our Mission

  • To provide stable, secure, quality insurance protection to our members at cost, with no profit objective.

  • To operate Conventus as a physician owned and physician governed reciprocal insurance exchange that places its members’ best interests first.

  • To maintain our commitment to exclusively serving New Jersey-based physicians.
